Remote thermo set-up hookup?

Got the official BGE Remote Smoker Thermometer for Christmas but no instructions in the box. Anyone know a link to a downloadable how-to?

    I haven't used the BGE Remote Smoker Thermometer, assuming is is something like the Maverick ET-73, that is dual probe remote.

    The pit probe can be connected at food level or just above the line on the dome thermometer stem and the food probe, well... in the food mid way vertically and horizontally.

    I mostly connect the food probe at cook level.

    If yours didn't come with an alligator clip go to walmart, radio shack or auto store and pick up a clip.

    DO NOT compress the alligator clip while it is mounted on the pit probe.     Close down the clip first then slide the probe into the back end of the alligator clip.

    If you crush the probe you ruin the thermometer.

    Thanks GG - your visual helped me make sense of the parts I had sprawled out before me. This BGE model has a flexible metal piece that snugs the grate with a couple of holes to slide the probe through. So your alligator clip suggestion will come in handy when I lose that piece ;) Much obliged!

    I think the Maverick had the same pit probe holder, but I converted it to the alligator clip after receiving my DigiQII. The clip just worked better for me.

    Keep the pit probe about 2" away from any food and out of direct lump heat. If you use the plate setter try to run the wires over one of the legs and out the egg, just a Thermometer safety tip.

    You will love your remote thermometer.
