Turkey Pan question

So I will be smoking a 20lb turkey for Christmas eve and have a question for you guys about the size of roaster pans you use. I have a Large Egg. Namely, what size roaster pans do you use. And any suggestions where to purchase?
I bought a 18 x 13 x 3 pan and it did not fit. I was planning on putting pan onto the placesetter, using some 1/2 inch bolts for a little separation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i you can't find a permanent pan that will fit (try a kitchen supply store, macy's had some this year)...an oval one works better than a square one. .. . then go to the grocery store and buy two or three throw-aways and stack em one inside the other to create the same density as a permanent pan. . .

I used the throw away pans last time I smoked but it was only an 11lber and I put it on the grill over the placesetter. Do you think that the throw away pans, even doubled up, will work with the bolts? or should I just place pan directly on the placesetter?

Use the bolts or drippings will scorch. And I am pretty sure a 16.5" pan fits in the large BGE...

As max said ovals work best...I like to put the bird on a rack inside the pan...
Another option is to put the pan on the platesetter as mentioned, then the grid resting on the pan (assuming it is higher than the fire ring at this point), and then the bird on top... (a regular cake pan etc. works well for this, even the cheapo ones. If you position the bird right over the pan you will get most of the drippings. Just foil the platesetter for anything that misses...)
Works well and you can just carry the grid in with the bird on top when done, throw on a cookie sheet, and wrap in foil until you are ready to move to a cutting space. Will catch a few more drippings this way too.
Max has suggested trying many setups....try a few with the bird still wrapped until you get the one that fits best. -
I think this pic has now made the forum almost as often as stike's hotdog, but this is the perfect disposable roasting pan. It was 16.5 length X 13.5 width or very close. It will hold up to a 23lb bird. Make sure to get a heavy duty version if available.

What I always use is a 9" x 13" standard disposable casseroll pan. I add about 1" of water or chicken broth, a little salt & pepper, 1 large onion cut in quarters, 2 or 3 stalks of celery, the giblets & the neck. I put this pan on the P S directly below the bird. After I pull the bird (AT 160 DEGREES) to allow it to rest, I take the pan in & the wife uses the broth to make a wonderful gravy.
