Traveling eggs

I see all the posts for egg feasts and BBQ Pitmaster type sports. How do you guys move your eggs? Do you have special crates made, egg car seats, egg cartons to move multiple eggs? Help me get a visual on this. I may have to move to a different location soon and don't want to damage the egg.

the pits lift it into the bed of the truck slide it all the way forward... a bit of padding between the truck body and the egg and lash it tight .. many here load it into the car and secure it with the seatbelt.
google "pot lifter" available from freds music and bbq .. it is the best way i know of to lift the egg .. and i am on a kcbs team so it gets moved several times a year. strong sons are a plus , i am lucky in that regard. -
Mine sit in my cargo trailer and act as the tongue weight. Everything else is packed around them. If I need all six large eggs 3 of them travel in my pickup. They are strapped into the bed of the truck.

Ok. I see the potlifter that makes sense. It still looks heavy. I can see where the sons come in. Do you move it with the firebox and fire ring inside or do you move them seperately?

Here is how I moved my two larges in October when I took them to Tallahassee to cook for my son's wedding reception. That is a 2009 Honda CR-V they are in...

You don't need to take it apart. The firebox and firering ride quite well where they belong

No, no seat belts...too much other stuff holding them in place. I did leave the firebox & ring inside during the traveling. The only time I took out the internals was to unload them when I got home...didn't have either son available to help with lifting...just the wife, and the Eggs are much lighter when the internals are removed.Have a GREAT day!
