Maverick - OK to use both probes in meat?

I've never used the grill probe in meat. I'm doing a turkey, and would like to monitor breast and leg at the same time. Is there any issue using the grill probe in the meat?

Thanks!

No issue at all. The unit doesn't know where the probes are.

Since I burned up two pit probes and a meat probe I got a couple high temp meat probes and use them interchangeably. ;) I haven't burned up a high temp probe yet but, I'm sure it will happen. Even still I only use my Maverick ET-73 for low temp cooks and sometimes in conjunction with my CyberQ II on those long over night cook or the Mad Max turkey cook so I can watch the beast and the thigh. • the probes are interchangeable ... the only difference is the shape of the "end" ... otherwise they are the same. The hi temp probes work very good ... their basic difference is the thickness of the wire and insulation around the wire ....to withstand the higher temps. Nice thing about the hi temp probes is the longer wires. I often use one ET-73 to monitor 2 diffent cooks on seperate cookers , at the same time. FB/SGP

  • I just bought a ET-73 and was wondering the same thing. Thanks for asking the question and to those who responded.
