Anybody keep a journal of what they cook on the egg?
I'm trying a lot of stuff right now, trying to learn. It occurred to me that it might be wise to keep a journal of recipes, observations, mistakes, etc., to refer back to.
Similar to the way gardeners do.
Anyone do this?

I have started one. I can't remember what temps and techniques because I can't bbq without a beer or 12. In only a couple months, I'm sure my cholesterol is way up and my liver is nearly pickled.. God I love the this egg :silly:

I keep a spiral bound notebook for most cooks that I do and for the longer cooks, I like to use a cooking log like this to record most variables:

I may make a version of that and have it bound into a pad. -

I was asked to boil crawfish for a large crowd in a setting where drinking would be frowned upon.
I really struggled. Never did it that way before. Frankly, I didn't know you could. -
For EVERY cook since I got the large in 2001. Sure has turned out to be useful for my friend who just bought his in 2009.

No but not a bad idea. A lot of times I just add a little of this and a little of that. I made some potatoes one night and the fam raved over them. I have not yet been able to reproduce the right combinations of seasons.

I used the Meatheads cooking log on my mad max turkey cook. It was busy work but, it realy help me keep an eye on the cook as well as having something to go back to on the next go around. Tim

i don't keep a journal but my Sister in Law keeps saying I need to write a blog of the creations from my egg. I set one up but always forget to post to it.
I think a journal is a great idea as you continue to work on your technique. -
