Was looking at the Ken Onion knife sale from previous post.

What is the difference in the feel of the right hand and left hand models?

I am left handed, does that mean I would be uncomfortable with a righ hand model?

Im pretty sure the KO Shun is not right or left hand spoecific. The standard Shun chefs knives are. As a lefty, I have used the right handed version and it doesnt work for me at all. But Im not sure the lefty would be much better. Though great knives, Im not a fan of the handle design at all on the standard, and not a fan of the blade design on the KO. Wish I could get the KO handle and the std chef knife.
  • first thing to determine when looking at right versus left handed models is "are they talking about single beveled knives or the shape of the handle." shuns have a "d" shaped handle on some models and the 'fat' part is on one side or the other for gripping comfort. if you cut left handed the left handed model would probably be more comfortable ,, if you are talking single bevel, cutting left handed with a right handed bevel is a no go ,, as far as i know ?? shuns are all double beveled knives .
will see what i can dig up about ko handles
