Getting ready to order my Christmas present: DigiQll... The question is with a large and small should I get a small adapter. Cannot see using the small for long timed cooks with the large sitting next to it.
What are you guys/girls doing that have a large and small?

Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd.

Off hand, I'd say you need both adapters. I haven't really thought about using the small adapter on the large, or if it would be possible to cobble together some sort of adapter-adapter. My guess is if you were doing overnight cooks, for example, you'd be using the large so that you'd have more charcoal for a longer burn. The Naked Whiz

That is my thought, using the large only for long cooks. The adapter is only $22. but if I would never use it??????Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd.

I have a large & small BGE. When I bought the Digi Q someone on this forum was kind enough to give me their small adapter. Thx Fiero guy.. :P
And I am glad they did. I have used it on the small almost as often as on the large. I can do 1-2 butts on the small and save the large for multiple racks of ribs and or chicken. IMHO for $22 I would get it...but then again I didn't have to pay for mine either...LOL -
If you only get 1 adapter get it for the large and use something to adapt for the small or spring a for a little extra and get both adapters.
In 3 years I have never used the q2 on the small, however, I don't use the small much at all.
I would follow vidalia1's suggestion.

I think you guys are right. Just get it, may never use it (hope to hell can remember where I placed it). But will have it.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd.
