Looking to replace temp's with Tel-Tru

Looking to replace BGE temp's with Tel-Tru. For each on the web site they have a 750 and 1000. Would the 750 be easier to read? What would we need a 1000 for? Would the 750 be burnt up if heat got away from you when lighting? Also looks like these are an inch longer than what BGE sells?

hopefully some day someone that has a mailorder business would special order a couple hundred teltrus at 3.5 inches stem size.
the 750 is more practicle and you can go higher for short periods and it seems to hold up, i cook higher than 1000 so yeah i need the 1000

For us un-imaginative types would you stay with the 750 then?

I have 3 of the 200 to 1,000 models with a 5" stem. I use a wooden toy wheel behind them that takes up 1/2" so the other 1/2" doesn't bother me one bit!
Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
another thing to consider is even with the top being 1,000 Tel-Tru recommends that you don't really run that high for sake of damage. With that same reasoning then if I had one that taps out at 750 then seeing I sear often at 725 to 750 then I might damage it.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

1000° five inch stem don't use the clip so you can remove and retract for big volume cooks.
wine cork or part of one with hole drilled in it makes a good spacer as well..
and the most important thing is always consult the naked whiz -
