Yesterday's post "United Way Chili" was entered into the cookoff today and took first place! The picture depicts the "medical supply chain" theme we used to display our chili...

Nice job done. Wish I could taste it now.
The medical stuff doesn't exactly make it LOOK appetizing, but I bet it tasted good.
BTW, that was your 666th post. Cool.
Congrats!

Thanks for the comments...if I could find a good kettle for the egg, this would have been done on the egg instead of the stove. I HATE cooking indoors on the stove. So far, no luck in finding a good soup kettle for direct heat.Visit my blog, dedicated to my Big Green Egg Recipies at http://www.bigtsbge.blogspot.com You can also follow my posts on FaceBook under the name Keep On Eggin' or the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keep-On-Eggin/198049930216241

Nice work, Tony!
Looks like you need to go shopping for a nice cast iron dutch oven. They work great on the egg!
Maybe a hint for the wife for a Christmas present?

Congrats! I'm sure it was well deserved.

Tony...First, Congrats, and Great job!!
Second... soup kettle for the Egg?? Cast Iron Dutch Oven....NO question!! Lodge makes some fantastic ones, enameled, or not. I cooked a huge batch of spicy soup at Eggtoberfest....right ON the coals....in a Lodge CI Dutch Oven. Have done many more cooks as well.... searing the meat with the DO direct on the coals, then to the grid for the simmer....NO Question...THE tool to have for stews, etc!
(Enameled ones are pretty, but also far more expensive... start with the basics....you can always move up)

Can probably find it cheaper....just went to Bass Pro because I know they have them.

I agree with Little Chef. We like the Lodge Enamel cast iron Dutch Ovens for soups and chili. Here is some soup my Sweetie made for me while I suffer from my cold. I think it is the 5 qt. Fits perfectly on Shirley Small.

We also have non-enameled cast iron Dutch Ovens and pans and they are great accessories to have.

Congrats! Neat presentation! :cheer: Tim
I love my $40. CI DO I got it at a flea market all rusted up. I simply cleaned it up and reseasoned it.
Here I am getting ready to bake some bread. I just need to put the lid on.
I think this one is about eight quarts.
