If you're still talking with me :( do you like the 8 or 10 inch chefs knife???
Yes, I'm considering one more or maybe 2. I could use a very small knife. I have a real cheap one with a 2 1/2 in blade which is nice for removing the innards of the jalapeno peppers.
Thanks,
Bordello

Bordello....I had a lengthly reply written, and somehow managed to lose it....so I am frustrated.....First, of course I am still talking to you, silly!! Please do NOT go for the 10" Shun Chef....It is HUGE!!! I will take a pic and post tomorrow using my hand as a reference!! (My 10" Shun Chef still sits pristine in the box!! I could cut you a deal!!
) It is SCARY big!! The 8" Shun Chef however....is AWESOME!!! VERY comfortable size, etc....and stick with the lefty classic grip, and you can switch from one knife to the next with ease.
The next knife I would recommend would be the 6" boning knife.....or the 5" Utility.......(the utility is a pretty decent all purpose...paring, etc....)
Will post more tomorrow...but need to get my flu stricken butt in bed!!! -
Sorry about your not feeling well, hope it get better soon. Believe me, I know how frustrating it is to lose a long reply, I seem to have a knack for doing that. :(
I think I read the specs on the 10 inch shun chefs knife and if I recall right it's about 15 inches in total length. That is Big, I wasn't sure if it was a misprint, that is one reason I decided to ask your opinion.
If you're not up to posting later I do understand. I will copy your post from here so I have the info in my mail folder. I'm not in a terrible hurry so whenever you feel up to it is fine.
Oh, I got up and checked, no blood or bandages anywhere so guess I did good.
Truly, I do wish you well,
Bordello
