Need advice from Food Saver users

Recently I started a thread of how to seal Drybags with a Food Saver. My FS is an older model V1050. Almost hidden under the lid is a simple slide switch with a number 3 on on side and 5 on the other. It looks like this:

Today I called Food Saver Customer Service and asked if all models have this switch and was told "not anymore". OTOH some FS models now have two buttons on the outside. One is labeled Dry and the other Moist. The representative informed my the Moist button heats the welding bar hotter (for sure) and (maybe) longer.
Would you mind timing the sealing period when the Moist button is used and post here the results PLUS your FS model number? Furthermore if you really want to help would you see if you can seal 3 layers of Food Saver material together with that Moist setting or even 4 layers?
Your help would really be appreciated!

I'll try it. Give me a few minutes.

Not sure if this helps, I have had a model 2840 for a little over a year and recently it would not pull a vacuum in any mode.
Called the reps in Orlando and they said my rubber seals were old. $12 later have some new ones, They tested the system by my placing my hand on the closed top and applying presur, that worked.
Until this no longer works, will hold the new gaskets in reserve. -
I have model V2860. It is about a year old.
The dry button sealed for 6 seconds.
The moist button sealed for about 8 seconds.
You can notice a slightly wider seal on the 8 second one.
I put 2 pieces over top of each other and sealed. The seal went through both, but the the 2 pieces pulled apart. The individual bags were sealed normally though.
My wife just gave me a look and asked what I'm doing..."just experimenting honey!" -
model
v2220 - bought this spring
moist seal - 8sec
two bags stacked
- each bag sealed fine
- the two bags separated if pulled
three layers (one side inside a bag)
- two of the three layers sealed.
good luck on your experiment

I have a Model V3460, a Bed, Bath and Beyond model that is about 6 moths old. I cut a piece of 8" bag material and put it inside a piece of 11" bag material and set the switch to "moist". The unit had no problems sealing through all the layers but only where I had inside layers in contact with each other would they seal. A seal was not possible with the outside surfaces of the 8" bag material.

Thanks to all of you for your help! Actually I'm not discouraged at all. The Drybag plastic itself is thinner than the FS material and I'm betting donuts to dollars that the Moist setting will weld all 4 pieces. See all the donuts I have lined up to bet?
