    Semper Fi, Rod. By your post, I must assume that you're a fellow leatherneck.

    I served from March of 1986 to May of 1992.

    3 years - India Co. and H&S Co., 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines
    15 Months - MSG Battalion, Paris, France
    15 Months - MSG Battalion, Cairo, Egypt

    Some of the best times of my life.

    My dad served 1966-1968 in Viet Nam. Alpha Co., 1/1

    He got medevaced out of Hue during the Tet Offensive, lucky to still have his right leg attached. Big piece of shrapnel went through the thigh, breaking the femur on the way through. He and the men he served with will always be my greatest heroes. His platoon Sergeant, Alfredo Gonzales, was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Hue and Platoon Commander, Allen Courtney was awarded the Bronze Star, posthumously, as well.

    My neighborhood is right next to MCAS Miramar and we love the Corps. As I sit here at work I can hear the F18s flying over--sounds like Freedom!

    Happy birthday marines! We had a food spread for all of our veterans yesterday and today at our VA clinic; we also tried to remember all of our marines today and wished them a happy birthday today! :)
