I normally wouldn't do this as a roast - I prefer steaks, but I thought I'd try something different.

I started off with a 4.5 roast.

Sprinkled it with some DP Cowlick.

Thought I'd add some crushed garlic.

Thought I'd add some mustard.

And then sprinkle it with some more DP Cowlick.

Put it on a V rack for a couple of hours and then let it rest for another hour in foil while I finished the taters, shrooms, gravy and veg.

There was too much garlic for my liking. That didn't stop everyone from finishing the protein. The meat itself was great !

I really thought about steaks - but I had this big hunk of meat in my hands and I thought -hey, I might as well give it a try.

Not sure if you saw my earlier post, but I went into the local grocer and they had a 2 for 1 sale on certain meats. I ended up with 2 x 4 lbs of rib eye and 2 x 7 or 8 lbs of tenderloin - all at half price.

The butcher must have said - it's a beautiful day - everyone should enjoy BBQ today!

    Thanks Molly !

It was really nice - melt in your mouth - I think I'll hold back on the garlic next time. It was nice, but a bit over powering for me.

As I got a second roast (the same size) at half price - I'm considering this my tester piece.

    Ha! Ha!

  • It (the garlic) was a bit much for me, but Anke loved it.
