I've been there, and sat in the theater where some of the shootings apparently happened. It really strikes home and makes you want to hug your kids.
There are nuts all over. -
Bad enough they die in some God forsaken sand pile. That's bad enough but here on our own soil?

Just update to 9 dead and 30 wounded (local news), one gunman still loose on base. Prayers up to them!! not good..

Sad day, it is tough enough on our troops day to day and then adding something like this, makes it even tougher. Doing work on several bases right now...God be with them all.

Strange that only this morning one of the Retired Generals was in my office and he was talking about the raised stress level now on Fort Hood. To my knowledge all my people are fine. We have a (employee) child in school that is in lockdown and one wife that we can't locate but no calls from post.

Prayers indeed. Answers to the question why will be slow in coming. Bless our troops every day and all local eggers, support the survivors in any way you can. The stress of these two wars has taken a tremendous toll on our armed forces and is not likely to ease any time soon. Don't forget Nov 11th.

sure hope the Army sends in a plane full of mental health providers for all those poor, stunned people.

Our heart goes out to those who lost loved ones today and days past.
We have a daughter and son in law serving now and my better half spent 22 years of her life in the service of our country.

Apparently he was a mental health provider. A rank of major and a psychiatrist being deployed soon.
They released two others, who were not involved. There may be one more in custody now, and the psychiatrist is dead.
Awful, awful day. These people serve our country and there isn't punishment enough for anyone that does anything remotely like this.
