Hoss,
That, sir, is a nice looking plate! The corn looks like the stuff that we can't get up here in Michigan this late in the year.
I like the looks of that copycat bread, too. Time to do some research! I've done the no-knead NYT recipe in the dutch oven, but haven't caught wind of the "Copycat.

Great tip. I'll have to keep that in mind next season.
We have a great farm up the road that puts out a stand during the season. My daughters go to school with one of the young ladies in the family. On a whim, while picking up one of the girls on a Sunday, I pulled in to grab a dozen ears to roast with dinner.
They mentioned that it was the last day for sweet corn and my order changed on the spot.
"How many dozen ya got back there????????"

Way far away and too late for dinnerJudy in San Diego -
We have grown corn for several generations. My Mom used to take some outta the freezer when fresh corn was in season and mix it in with the fresh picked. We had some guests that proclaimed that they would only eat fresh picked as the taste was considerably different.NOT ONE of them EVER could tell the difference when it was served!
