The week before Eggtoberfest my brother and I planned a Memorial Service for my father who was a 60 year resident of Indianapolis. I was given the task of finding a private room in a restaurant the night before the service so we could host out of town family members and dear friends of my parents. As luck would have it a friend suggested Chef JJ's, a venue that we could rent for ourselves. The chef cooks on Big Green Eggs and provides excellent food and impeccable service. Here are a few photos of the evening:
The deck outside on the banks of the White River

Chef JJ working some magic on appetizers

Dates stuffed with manchego cheese and wrapped in peppered bacon (yes I did steal the recipe and cooked it at Eggtoberfest - huge hit!)

Spinach salad - wonderful

Cooking away

I'm either swapping lies or recipes with JJ and sous chef Jenna

The dessert - a pear bread pudding with a rum/walnut glaze

I missed taking photos of the marinated skirt steak and smoked trout because all twenty four of us were too busy devouring every course presented to us.
Any of you Eggheads visiting Indianapolis must make a point of visiting this place . I feel I'm pretty accomplished cooking on the Egg, but this night made me feel like dropping to my knees and crying "I'm not worthy!"

This past Aug. Cindy and I were invited to grill at Indianapolis, IN. first annual Eggfest and when we arrived we were welcomed with open arms.
So,Kudos to Chef JJ & Sous Jenna and their promoter Staraya as well as Sulivans Do-it store.
Here are some pic's of the Eggfest last Aug. 2009 at Sulivans Do-It in Indianapolis. I plan to attend the 2010 Indy fest.
Here I am grilling on two large eggs. There were about 25 eggs cooking at this event and we guess about 1500 spectators. I was told by one person that because of me he did purchase an egg!
This is Andrew Ball he is very good on the egg and we soon become friends.
