I love my WOK! a little vegis and some chicken and rice and dinner is easy and fast. and low fat :) makes up for the pulled beef :( only thing I messed up on was no chicken stock for the broth. I used some white wine, oj and ginger mixed with a little corn starch. it was ok but the chix broth is better. used onions, carrots, green peppers, just what was in the vegi bin, you really do not need a ton of stuff for a nice stir fry.

thanks to Pork Butt for showing me about closing the bottom draft on the egg for woking :)

  • We LOVE the Wok too .... have decided that needs to be at least a 2X per week cook ... and didn't see the post ... but learned just last week that closing the bottom draft made the temp just about right.

If you like going to swap meets, garage sales and tag sales you may find one that some looser no longer wants. $1 or 2.

I have a few in FL that I got just before we came home. one is a nice hammered one that I think they used once. it has a nice rounded bottom and the ring base :)$1.00 I was a happy girl and got two nice small bamboo steamers from the same sale for 1.00 more :) I can't wait to get back down there and give them a work out. after doing the lobster wontons at the egg fest I have ideas running all over my brain. sad to say it was the first time I had worked with wonton wrappers and they are so cheep and so simple and I have visions of steamed and baked and fried ......
