Hi to all
Can anyone give me any feedback on the adjustable rig
from the ceramic grill store? Looks like a great
device for raised grid direct cooking. JUst wanted to
know if worth the money? any feedback appreciated.
thanks BullyC

bullyc,
It's great for raised grid, multi layer and indirect.

I got one and love it! get the spider when you order and if you do not have a wok might as well get that too. I wish I had gotten my rig sooner it is a priceless tool

I never take mine off the egg. Hard to burn anything cooking high in the dome
Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd. -
Tom's adjustable rig is fantastic and extremely versatile. I bought the rig, first and then went great guns and picked up the sliding grids system with spider and pizza stone to enable me to do 6 racks of ribs flat for saucing.
It's my standard setup for almost everything, now. It's perfect for raised direct cooking, like spatchcock chickens and thighs.
To me, it's well worth the price. All of the gear he fabricates is heavy guage stainless steel and should last a lifetime.
Oh, and also two-tiered butt cooks for when 18 pounds of pork just isn't going to cut it:

The rig and spider are worth every cent. Superior qualty and workmanship,

thanks for all the positive feedback, I cant wait to
get one, thanks BullyC -
It is awesome. I bought my second Large BGE recently. The same day I ordered the Egg, I ordered a second Adjustable Rig, w/stone for indirect heat, + drip pan and a second spider. I want flexibility!!
To me it is essential and I use it all the time - very rarely take it out. There are only a few things that I even use my platesetter for anymore.. -
The adjustable rig is the best thing you can have on an egg. It should be standard equipment. It adds such versatility and so much extra space. we like to cook items that drip onto the grid below for extra flavor . GET ONE!!!b

Other then my Thermapen, the adjustable rig is my most used accessory. I highly recommend it.
