That was Molly's Mini that blew off her patio years ago in a windstorm. She gave it to my son, who in turn moved to Nebraska and left it with me. The Egg had cracked when it fell(hence the clamp)and the band got kind of funky. To make everything work like it should, I scrapped the gasket altogether and used it as spacer material to make the band fit snugly.
Bottom line...it works. -

How long was the sear and what temp did you pull the strip?
The mini rock! -
90 seconds per side at 650-700, 18 - 20 minute rest, then 3 minutes per side at 400-450. This strip was about 1 3/4" thick.
