Baked Apple Crisp :)

after the steaks came off tonight I did a quick burn off and set the med up indirect. used my cast iron pie pan and filled it with cut apples, covered them with a mixture of oats, brown sugar, cinn, butter and chopped walnuts
baked it for about an hour. topped with some vanilla ice cream and hot caramel sauce
no complaint here
on the apples I do not peal them, I have one of those things that you just press down on the top and it cores and cuts them into slices. the skin cooks right up

Looks good.
Have you made apple streudel ? If you have, fillo dough or pastry dough ?

now, now, Julie. Why'd you have to go and post that? I'm just glad no one in the house does desserts...or I'd be the next good year blimp. But that does look good.

Hi Gary, I have done it with both and like the puff pastry the best if I am using on the egg. well in the oven too. I think I have some in the freezer and will do one tomorrow and post pics of it
we brought back two cases of apples from PA on our way home from KY last month. so we are eating them up

the one case we got is "20 OZ'rs" some of them are 9 inches across....it only takes two for a pie! and I use a 10 inch deep dish pan, not my cast on that I used for this crisp.
