How long can a turkey rest?

Family is in Iowa City. I'm in Chicago. Was thinking about cooking the turkey this year on the Egg.
Think if I cooked it on the Egg, foil wrapped it, tossed it in a pre-warmed cooler with blankets, and drove 3.5 hours to Iowa City, the turkey would be alright still?

Don't see why not. Sometimes I have cooked the bird, let it rest for an hour or so on a counter covered with foil and then serve and leave out another hour or so during dessert and cleanup.
Serve with warm gravy rather then reheat the bird.
This is a nice relish to serve with the bird IMHO.

You may want to pre-heat the cooler with wam water before adding the truk....
But, I think it should be just fine....Unles you're driving through -40 weather :woohoo: ! -
OH...BTW, I have read that a two hour rest is a good thing for a big turkey!!
That should just about do it for you
