Bad stuff part two

OK I had to fire up the egg cause I am doing a spatchocked turkey for dinner and thought I would give the popcorn on the egg a try. I used my wok and I have decided I you can do ANYTHING almost with a wok! this is in my med with the woo and the fire going at about 400. I just dumped all the ingredients in the wok and stirred. When it started popping I put on a very large cover I have from one of my other pans and just shook it to keep it moving. this popped faster and much better than the pan on the stove. I think the curved bottom and the direct high heat made a difference. most of the kernels popped. once it was thick enough with popped corn I took of the lid and used the shovel to stir. I should have had the other shovel to to kind of "toss" the corn but did not have time to run to the house for it. this was to coat it all well with the seasoning. I was even happier with the egged kettle corn. if you have a wok and any pop corn and dizzy pig you have to try this. unreal!!I will never pay 5 bucks for a bag at the fair again lol or just have it once a year :S

Mrs. Julie,
You are just too good at what you do, looks great. Can't wait to hear how Ron does.
Cheers,

shouldnt have told him about the cover
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
LOL now that is just bad LOL you really only need the cover till there is enough popped to keep it all in the pan. it kind of sticks together. and the stirring coats it and keeps it under control. Any other seasoning would work good to I think but the sweetness of the pineapple head works with the flavors. you can skip any seasoning and just use 3 T of sugar. I have been making it forever just plain and had a DUH moment today LOL

ill give it a go this weekend, have popcorn up at camp for my nephew and niece. does it matter, white or brown sugar etc.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Why A Big Thank You Mrs Julie, that's the nicest thing I've been told today. :woohoo:
My Best,
Bordello -
First off I knew I needed a lid as I remember my Mother popping corn when I was a kid - As for a pan I improvised using this stove top wok like pan and sat a lid on that nearly fit.

Not knowing what 1/2 cup of corn would produce I cut the recipe in half which I'm glad I did.
I also cut the sugar further in half due to my type 2 diabetes, but it still was plenty sweet to me. I've led a sheltered life in many ways and have never tasted kettle corn so I didn't have any expectations to over come. Funny thing even though I had just had a big lunch an hour before I gobbled down practically that whole batch! Thanks, Julie, I'll be doing this again!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
How are you setting up the turkey? What is on it now?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd.

hey Micky, Spatchocked and I have it at 325 or so direct and it is at 140 so coming along nicely. I used the Kona rub that RichardFL sent to me. used it once on pork and it was very good. I will post about it all later with pics.
I might have to do it tomorrow as I seem to have used up my "new Post" Quota
:woohoo: -
See it is bad stuff!! it has a way of just disappearing  and it does keep if you don't eat it all. as long as it is in a zip lock it will keep days.

Ron,
Congrats, you have proven that as we??? Mature... we know to take thing slowly.
Looks like you had a good cook and enjoyed it. Job well done.
Cheers,

Thanks again for the recipe, Julie - I managed to save some for Pat and she's goo-goo over it too! BTW what's the difference between white pop corn and yellow pop corn?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time
