I have been shaking the Pineapple head on my popcorn since it came out. this takes it a step further. It is like the kettle corn you get at the fair, but with a KICK!

1/2 cup popcorn
1/4 cup vegetable
1 TBL Dizzy Pig Pineapple head
2 TBL sugar

mix all ingredients together and pour into a deep covered pot. heat on med till you start to hear popping. you need to shake and swirl the pan to keep it all from burning. hot pads help if any steam is leaking out. HOT! when popping slows to almost nothing pour into a large bowl. toss gently to separate the kernels and help cool it. DO not try it right out of the pan! melted sugar is HOT  once it cools it is crunchy, crispy, spicy, sweet, salty popped corn. VERY GOOD!! IF you have any left it keeps well in a zip lock bag. the only down side is not all the kernels pop as they stick to the corn so be careful!

Thanks! I'm heading to the store in a couple minutes, but do you have time for a dumb question? I have never popped popcorn in my life - even when my wife did years and years ago it was in the microwave. Will a Dutch oven with a lid hold the amount of popped corn you suggest at 1/2 cup? Guess I want lead time in case I have to clean up the kitchen before Pat gets home late this afternoon!

dutch oven isnt the way to go, you want a light pot that you can shake so the bottom kernals dont burn

this isn't a cast iron DO, but some lite weight thing we've used on the stove for years - but you're saying I need a covered skillet maybe?

    Hi Ron,
I would agree with that unless you really want to do the "pick up all the popcorn dance" after it pops.

Unless your pop is rally deep it will pop right out of it.

    Good Luck,

I have a whirly pop and shake alot in before popping. It is very addicting. I don't add sugar.
