Amount of food at Eggtoberfest

I have had a few folks ask me about how much food they should plan on preparing at Eggtoberfest. I can't answer the question cause I always do too much. I thought there were a couple of rules of thumb for this but I can't remember.

Couple of rules are: 1) Get & 2) Plenty.... -
I would say to plan on how much you can afford and you can do and still have fun.
I am planning on serving about 100 for each of my things. That way I can still get around and see people. No need to slave away at an egg all day and realize it was the only thing you talked to (other people talk to their eggs, right?) -
It's pretty simple to calculate how much:
1,500 guests minus 300 cooks cooking an average of 36.6 individual servings, minus one serving for each cook (except for Florida Poolman who sometimes eats 2 servings), plus 33 staff members who earn and eat at least 4 servings each, plus the after-party, = enough to feed a Division of battle-hardened Marines.
You're welcome.

Leroy,
Made sense to me  Except the thing about Poolman. I've seen him eat.
Thanks

Gene,
I'm going to do a lot less this year too. I thought there was something about seven full servings or something like that.

You mean I have to share the food I cook    I'm gonna need a bigger cooler
 -
:P
I have about 4 pounds of lobster meat picked off and frozen, going to steam a few more and get it frozen. Now to decide... have it narrowed between two... one wowie and not serving so many and the other is really good and simple and serves a lot. and does not use the egg to long to free it up for others.... -
It's always the skinny guy you have to worry about. They can pack away some food.
-
Ive already spent more on food than what I would to attend rather than cook, and I'm not done. Plus there's the paper plates, etc.
:pinch: -
Hey Leroy here the the latest count....2054 people are attending this event.
Larry -
My Grandfather would say "thats 20lbs of crap in a 10lb sack".
