Ceramic tops and metal daisy wheel smoke hole cove

Does the BGE Small and Mini both come with the ceramic top(cover smoke hole) ;) or just the metal daisy wheel tops?

Do you use your ceramic top to cut off the fire, or just close up the daisy wheel?

    Not as well as the ceramic top but it will work. If that is all you have, put a piece of foil under the daisy wheel when you are trying to snuff out the fire.

    The daisy will kill the fire...But it doesn't do a very good job of keeping the rain out :angry: . I made that mistake a few weeks ago and ended up with a pretty wet Egg. I cleaned it all out, but still the cap does a wonderful job of damping the fire and keeping the water out too.

    Does anyone know were to buy the ceramic top? I bought used XL with no Top. I have a daisy wheel, but that does not stop the rain.

    I had a spare here at the shop but a customer
    droped his for his XL and shattered it. So
    Im out for now.

    The same cap fits the XL,L and M


    As far as the fire thing, I put my daisy inside the egg when I take it off (still hott) and put the ceramic on. I think this keeps the daisy from rusting also. mine is new last October and still BLACK at least... maybe so maybe not but works for me.
