Dishwasher Safe?

Quick question:
I was going to clean my grates from the last cook and thought I'd throw it in the dishwasher. But first, figured I'd consult the all-knowing egghead forum.
Are the grates dishwasher safe with regular dishwashing soap? Or is there a better way?
Thanks!

My mom throws her small grates in after every use. They look brand new even after three years.

I have NEVER cleaned the grate on my egg which maybe is why the food is soooo terific. I do a high temp clean and the grate looks brand new.
