Anyone knows anything about this? Grid is about same size as BGE mini. I'm tempted to pull the trigger, HD in Canada is having a 1-day online sale for $25, with free shipping...

Buy a flower pot for a dome and you're all set - for I don't know how long.
-
i saw one of those in person not a particularly well made item BUT for $25 and free shipping it is probably worth it to have an extra grill around . but there is a reason they are giving them away.
yakitori sauce can be had at a local asian market or online at asian grocer. com
bamboo skewers are available at korin.com and some are on sale this month,, they are way way way cheaper thru korin than buying the s.r. brand at a bbq place.
while you are at korin search "hida konro" or "konro."
let us know what you decide and what you think of it if you pull the trigger

p.s. let me know if you want me to bore the forum with my yakitori speach. -
dont know anything about them, did save this link years ago for really small ones.

Or buy two and use it for a dome. Even has an adjustable vent. might be hot lifting the dome though!
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

i have the hida.. cute but does not get as hot at grid as you would expect...
-
wonder if you preheated the stone if it would keep the stone hot enough to cook thin strips of meat at the table. at the time thats what i was looking for, something to sit next to the fondue fryer at the barfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
i did not get the stone just the grid and use it like you would fondue,, especially in the summer,, big salad and put the konro on tv tray and grill shrimp and steak a little at a time sitting in the breezeway... also put it on the hearth in the winter with a fire in the fireplace there is enough draw to take the smoke up the chimney..
-
Hard to go wrong for $25.00.
I would buy one...
Let us know.

Thanks everyone for chiming in. I bought it, shipping on 9/11. I thought about buying 2 and invert 1 as dome/lid :woohoo: but since it'll be for grilling only I didn't. It was more of an impulse buy because it looks so cute.canuckland
-
great idea but it'll be for grilling only, no lid required.canuckland

Gary,
Just watch that in the winter to make sure you have draw on the fireplace with such a low heat level. You may wasnt to put a kerosene ball in as well to keep the draught.

i only do it with a fire burning in the fire place and i crack a door or window in the living room to increase the draw..
-
bill,
But you're in the bannana belt of Pennslvania. Up north here where it gets cold.
