Stuffed Cabbage, Squash and Cornbread...and Patio
Lawn Ranger

Love that cabbage. Stuffed with a lightly browned pork mixture with mushroom wild rice, green chilis, onions, garlic and black olives. Loosely wrapped, indirect on the Small at about 400 for a couple of hours. Cornbread screwed up but sure tasted good regardless.
Patio is coming along. Supposed to get shingled today, then gutters, painters, and stone guys for the floor and fireplace. There was once a time that I would have tried to do this myself.....Not anymore.
The built in Egg cabinetry will be where the Eggs are sitting in the pics.

Wow that's some kind of progress on your patio project. Looking good!
Oh...cabbage looks good to.
-
what kind of dog is that in the background?
-
Looks a like an Akita to me.
-
Nice porch and food Mike

That was my first thought as well, but it doesn't look tall enough, bulky enough, or have as heavy of a muzzle...maybe a young Akita? To be honest, it looks like a Siberian Husky, but with a single-color coat and more of a curved tail than most huskies.

Could be a Shiba Enu (sp?) I bet the masked man with the silver bullets knows!
Who was that masked man anyway? I bet Fred Foy knows

BB:
I wish I knew. Whatever she is, she is built for SPEED. She was a stray that had appartently been really abused. She lived under the bleachers on our football field her on the Trinity campus. No one could get near her. I started feeding her from a distance, and one Sunday night she crashed a backyard function at our president's home. They are really dog people and she came to him. I picked her up and she's been with us for 3 or 4 years. She still exhibits some strange behavior....absolutely will not go into a bathroom if she can see a toilet. She was either tied to one as a puppy,...or worse.
She has a spot on her tounge like Chow, and the vets seem to think there is Shepherd, also. -
BB:
She is really a pretty dog.

Treat youself and do that to onions. Stufed onions is a Great change and flavor.

Yeah, she's got a shepherd's ears. But she must have some spitz in her to have a tail like that.
You're right, she's a beautiful dog.
My aunt adopted a stray that was a beautiful mutt. Stunning red long silky hair, delicate build and a wonderfully gentle personality. But definitely had abandonment fears. Couldn't leave that dog anywhere, he'd jump the fence, or jump through screen doors to come running down the street after your car if you tried to leave him at home. -
You sure enhanced that outdoor area from what it was, Mike. Looks really nice.
-
corn bread looks great to me!
Nice cook and love that outdoor kitchen!..dry below!

Don't know why I need it dry....it never rains here, anyway!

LR,
Everything is looking good. I'm dying to try the stuffed cabbage but can't find small ones. I am going to do cabbage rolls this weekend and just whittle them down to the right size.
