I have a Boston Butt on the egg to make pulled pork for sandwiches. What would you recomend to mix with it after it is pulled? Thanks Bucky Buckshot

  • I use the North Carolina sauce that is in the recipe section with Elder Ward's Pulled Pork. That and I mix in some Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.
  • A good homemade bbq sauce. If you don't want to make a homemade sauce, I second the Sweet Baby Rays. It is my favorite store bought sauce.
  • Thanks guys, that is exactly what I was looking for. I knew I could count on this wonderful forum. Bucky

Normally the pulled pork is good enough to put right on the bread with some bbq sauce (Sweet Baby Ray's) on the meat.

If you want a good 'wetter' pulled prok take the pulled pork in a pan add 120z. coke (not diet) a teaspoon of hot chili powder (optional - but good).

If you add the chili powder, the object is NOT to have any prominent or much noticeable chili flavor - it will be there but hard to tell what it is.

Taste the results and if you want add some bbq sauce to the mixture to taste. A little salt will kick up the flavor also.

The mixture really makes a great sandwich, the buns get tasting great.
