...egg that is! what did you think i was talking about?

I came home yesturday to find this sitting on my back deck. Isn't she HOT!!!

..burgers ready for the grill

mmmm looking good!

holding steady at 400...

and finished!

the corn was on the egg too, but it wasn't any good. when i shucked it all the kernals were "dimpled" .. i thought grilling it would be better than throwing it away. should have gone with option 2.
Well, i was going to wait until Saturday for my first cook. Couldn't wait, so we threw on burgers and corn on the cob. The corn was a week old and wasn't any good, but my wife said the burgers were "bangin!". I was amazed with a couple things. First, how quick and easy this thing was to light. Dropped in some charcoal, 2 starters, and in 10mins was up to 300+ degrees. I was also impressed with how easy the temp control was. I was able to maintain 400 degrees throughout the cook. I've never cooked on a BGE or seen on in action, but i think reading all the posts have certainly helped out. Special thanks to Grandpa's Grub for his pics of the vent settings at different temps. Using that it was very easy to get to the temps i wanted. I also was impressed when i opened up the egg. (which was quite a few times turning corn, flipping burgers, etc) I noted the temps climbed rather quickly back up to 400 and there wasn't any flare-ups until i opened the cooker and started messin' with the burgers. Anyways, sorry for the long post, but if half the cooks are going to be like this i'll be very happy. So far, I'm very impressed. :woohoo:
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Now i think I see why you people are so crazy for these BGE's. :P :side:

I won't get to deflower getting a demo egg on Saturday, congrats on a great cook, where can I see the pics about vent settings for the different temps?

Looks like you are off to a great start.

I get to deflower my large tomorrow. That is if it gets delivered. This LBGE will keep my MBGE company. Hmmm, that means I have deflowered 2 virgins.

I feel guilty for even opening this post after the intro.

Nice burgers! -
Hey enjoy it. Nice choice as that's exactly what we did tonight minus the dimpled corn. We're going to do the corn possibly Friday night. Welcome and like they say, make room for the second egg.

Glad to see you enjoying your first cook, keep it up and you will soon be looking for another one.
When I got my first Egg back about 2001 or 2002 I was able to control temps without much trouble. It was just like you, I had been reading this forum for sometime before my purchase.
Keep on Eggen,
