the corn was on the egg too, but it wasn't any good. when i shucked it all the kernals were "dimpled" .. i thought grilling it would be better than throwing it away. should have gone with option 2.

Well, i was going to wait until Saturday for my first cook. Couldn't wait, so we threw on burgers and corn on the cob. The corn was a week old and wasn't any good, but my wife said the burgers were "bangin!". I was amazed with a couple things. First, how quick and easy this thing was to light. Dropped in some charcoal, 2 starters, and in 10mins was up to 300+ degrees. I was also impressed with how easy the temp control was. I was able to maintain 400 degrees throughout the cook. I've never cooked on a BGE or seen on in action, but i think reading all the posts have certainly helped out. Special thanks to Grandpa's Grub for his pics of the vent settings at different temps. Using that it was very easy to get to the temps i wanted. I also was impressed when i opened up the egg. (which was quite a few times turning corn, flipping burgers, etc) I noted the temps climbed rather quickly back up to 400 and there wasn't any flare-ups until i opened the cooker and started messin' with the burgers. Anyways, sorry for the long post, but if half the cooks are going to be like this i'll be very happy. So far, I'm very impressed. :woohoo:
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Now i think I see why you people are so crazy for these BGE's. :P :side:
