Anyone else use the FoodSaver marinator?

Just got it a few weeks ago. I've used it a couple times and think it is going to be a great Eggcessory. The first time I tried it, I used a favorite marinade that calls for 8 hours. I put it on the grill about 10 minutes after the FoodSaver finished its cycle (which takes about 10 minutes) and it was just as flavorful (if not more) than the last time I used this recipe.

I use them all the time. Brilliant stuff. I have over marinated a few things, specially poultry.

Steven, how can you over marinate something? I'm not feeling very bright right now, if you could enlighten me I would be grateful.

Gator Bait,

When you over marinate something you lose the flavour of the food. The fibres also break down and things get generally mushy. The food tastes like the mainade on pablum.

Thanks Steven, I hope I never reached that stage on any of my cooks. That sounds nasty! I have a new FoodSaver and love it, one of these days will have to pick up the marinator.

They are only 20 bucks in Canada. Absolutely worth having. I can get home from work, marinate a flank steak and still cook at a reasonable time. I don't plan well :laugh:

I will have to get a marinade bowl when my new foodsaver gets here. I had to ship mine back to sunbeam after it broke the third time i used it. I called to get the part and they don't sell the parts so they said they will replace the whole unit.

Anyone else use the FoodSaver marinator?
