Modified compact table done!
chrono
Posts: 177
Well guys, finally got my table done. I modified the the plans to make a compact table which can be rolled into my storage shed under our deck after use. Plus I can manuever it all over the patio. Spent about the same $$$ I would have on a nest. Just stained it and seemed to turn out better then expected. All I need to do is drop my egg in there and put it together.
It's been a long road to get here. Started with a ECB last year that got me hooked into smoking. Did all the research and BGE is laid everything else to waste. Got my Lg Egg, adjustable rig and spider last week. Have a few bags of Ozark Oak and Fire King on hand. Think I might try some pork ribs to break her in. Blues Hog in the fridge too. I'll update when I get egg all put together. Thanks so much guys .. this forum has been the best!!!

That looks like a beauty! Is it pine?

Thanks! Actually, it's mostly cedar except some inner support pieces which are regular 2X4's. Got most everything at Lowe's except the wheels which were from Harbor Freight.

That's a great looking table- Nice Job!
Don't forget to put a stone and feet under your Egg when you set it in the table.
Also, in the future if you need more table space within the same footprint, you can add drop leaves at either (or both) end(s)

The color is slightly off because the wood on the leaf is about 2 years newer than the table. the color match looks better in real life.
The brackets are great- RPP gave me the link to where he got his drop leaf brackets, i just don't remember where at the moment. -
Nice table. I'm sure you're going to enjoy eggin' with it. Go get your ribs cookin

I actually have 2 paver stones and the egg feet underneath. Looks great .. but I busted a clinch stud so I ordered a few spares which will be in on Friday. So my first cook will have to wait till the weekend. Must be patient. I'll take a pic 2nite and post it in the new forum .. thanks for all the tips and support!
