Birthday cooking! Just my 2 cents.

Today is my birthday. I am 53 and generally in good health and while my retirement funds aren't what they were a year or 2 ago, I am doing ok, paying the bills and getting by. I work for myself so I like my boss! Life is what you make of it!
I have 8 children and 12 grand children and a loving wife and feel truly blessed,
In honor of my birthday I have invited over some of the family and am cooking a big dinner for everyone. A pork butt is on the egg, white corn is shucked and ready to boil and baking potatoes are ready to cook when the pork comes off. I've peeled 9 granny smith apples for a pie and I have several nice bottles of Bordeaux ready to open including a 1996 Pomerol
There is nothing I would rather do on my birthday then entertain family and friends, it is better then any present I could be given.

have a great birthday Chris. Most of us these days would rather have friends over and cook for ourselves...than to pretend we're enjoying the atmospere of a stuffy resturant.

On my Bday I wanted to cook some T bones. My wife and mother already planned a party and thought I was crazy for wanting to cook my own meal. They don't get the enjoyment that comes from cooking. -
Happy Birthday. It is my lady friend's grandsons 8 today and his favorite BGE Food is ribs. So in his honor and 25 of his friends and relatives were are having a pool party with St Louis ribs and baked beans ala keri/thirdeye with cherry pie filling. Oh yes there is the request cake and ice cream also. Happy Happy!
