with green beans from my garden . i stabilized at 350 and put chicken on ... dome thermometer never went above 250 but chicken was done at about 20 minutes per pound .. so i think it was cooking at 350
and yes the skin was crispy .. sorry for the blurry pix the steam blurred the lens

Looking good Bill and very innovative...you decided not to buy the new Mini Woo?
-
Nice job bill, the bird looks great!
-
very ingenious setup and great looking chicken. dome temp stayed low probably because there's not a lot of space around the stone?

no, i still want one . waiting to here back about it he was makeing some changes.. need a sliding shelf adjustable rig too. the pictured set up worked well and the chicken grease did not burn and smoke.. all in all i was plaesed except for the thermometer issue

thanks it was good and easy... set it up and walk away [i went to the neighbors for wine]

dome temp was fine crispy skin done at 20 minutes per pound..... temp issue , i believe was chicken high in the dome blocking or touching the thermometer my basis is.... chicken cooks at 20 min per pound at 350 degrees which is how the timing worked out ,, if it was really 250 it would have taken longer than and hour and 20 minutes . thats my story and i am sticking to it,

bill, Is that a "Free Range" chicken in bondage? Neat contraption you built. Food looks great!

So the grid on top is a separate purchase, apparently. Right? great pics for me as I'm a hands on learner. thanks bill! Also does not have to be a pie pan, just a drip pan, righto?
Very helpful, thanks.Molly

0.041" 304 stainless-steel wire held up fine.
pan is steel i found in the basement [i have all mom's stuff] wire rack is vergetable steming rack from a rice cooker [never used it in the rice cooker and it too was found in the basement]
any 8 inch pie pan will work. cannot help with rack
sorry
bill -
any 8 in pan will do the wire rack was a find and not a puchase ,, every time i post this i get asked about it i will try to find one on line again but have been unsuccessful in previous attempts
bill -
thanks will title the dish bondage chicken next time and give you the credit for the name
-
Out of curiousity, why not just set the stone on top of the grate? Is there not enough headroom for the chicken that way?
-
correct always a fight for real estate with the mini
-
Dang Bill, from the lower pic, it looks like you cooked it perfect!! You sure seem to like to tie thangs up!
(I'm just sayin') -
it was really good .. boss hogg coined from now on "bondage chicken" and although i do like the tying up part  i was really interested in keeping thelegs and wings close in so when cooked they would not touch the dome
