Was going to try traeger or another brand of wood pellets for flavor. They have a bunch of different flavors. Has anyone added it to the lump?

"fueling the egg with them"
Could you imagine a Large BGE filled to the top of the firebox with pellets? :ermm: Wow. A neighbor has one of these units and loves it. Almost purchased one (Traeger) myself, until I discovered that you can't get it hot enough to sear.
Great image though !! -
What Stike said....also the smolder time on them I think would be pretty short given the size as compared to something like this...

WE HAVE USED THEM, WE LIKE THE GRAPE PELLETS WHEN USING OUR TRAEGER FOR POULTRY, IN THE EGG THEY ARE A BIT OVERWHELMED BY THE CHARCOAL. WE HAVE USED THE GARLIC AS WELL WHEN WE MAKE ENCHILADA'S ON THE EGG - YUMMY

I was thinking of it for flavoring only. Just to try something new.

Pago,
Please turn off your all CAPS as it appears as if you are yelling....
:woohoo: :P

Go for it! You don't know what you don't know...well until you know.

Garlic is the first one I want to try.

Every one yells at me. If I use no caps, is that a whisper?

Fast Eddy now makes a pellet cooker that will get to 800 degrees. pelletcooker.com.

BBQers Delight is the best brand of pellet you can buy and many times you can find in a 1lb package. Most pellets are 2/3 oak and 1/3 flavored wood for the way they burn. The oak won't mask the flavor.

just toss in actual garlic. heh heh he

I've used them a few times not bad -
The place I bought my Large (Mr. Mulch Outdoor Living in Columbus, OH) sells traeger as well, and uses the pellets during cooks at their demos. Seems to work pretty well. Cheers, Erik
