Costco Pizza - Take Two

My first attempt at cooking a Costco Pizza in an XL BGE ending up a burned disaster. This time I had better luck - I used a plate setter (legs up) then the grid and then my new 16 inch pizza stone on top. I cooked per the directions - 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
The top (cheese pizza) came out ok but if I cooked it any more, it would have burned the cheese. However, the crust was kind of soft and mushy - I like it a bit more well done and crunchy.
Any suggestions?

Think about your results. Any longer cook & burnt cheese, but crust was soft and chewy...
You need to get more heat on the pizza stone. Maybe a bit longer stabilization time or possibly the lump a little closer to the ceramics.
A good pizza cook needs the proper heat from above and below.
On my large I have found a thick pizza stone no the top of the adjustable rig and a dome of 500°, well stabilized will get a pizza as you say you like above.

How long did you preheat the stone? That would be the first thing I would look at. A good 30-40 minute pre-heat on the stone may be the fix.
Otherwise maybe bumping the temps 25* or so should help. -
I agree it most likely was not up to temperature. I use the plate setter legs down with feet under my pizza stone and give it at least 45 minutes to come up to temperature.

Set up sounds just fine. Need to preheat the stone for 45 mins to 1 hour first.
