Looking for a good quality cutting board (maple, walnut or cherry) for the Egg. Saw a post april/may about cutting boards...mac crashed and lost the info. I have been online looking at the ones from Phoenix Culinary Products. Any suggestions?

I have heard that bamboo is very good, very hard wood.

Bamboo is nice and makes a very good cutting board, but I've heard from a few sources it isn't very kind to your knives.
I use an end grain cherry and walnut board from Ozark West and absolutely love it. It is going on 3 years old and looks as good as it did the day it arrived. The end grain is self healing - I oil it about 4-5 times a year. -
I really like the ones made by the boardsmith.

I have one Cherry and it is almost too nice to use...
I did say almost
Give david a call. He does really nice work and will do custom sizes or wood combinations/patterns. -
$299. for a cutting board? That is some bad craziness. No cutting board I ever owned made the food taste any better. I use the white vinyl ones and throw them in the dish washer.

Only avail in Japan, the Daikyo cutting board is soft texture which is good for your knives and has international patent for embedded antibacteria. Cost is around $120. Know someone in Japan and they can send you. I love mine.
2nd best is bamboo. Hard, but not damaging to knives. Quick drying with natural resistance to bacteria.
