so did you find a source for your buns?? If not give me an email and I can help you out. when we moved out of Maine when I was little I could not figure out why they cut their buns WRONG every where else we lived. And they HAVE to be toasted on the sides!! that is a no brainier

hornhonk wrote:I have been reading a lot about Eggheads shipping La Bomba and making deals with lump, etc. Wonderful! How about NE buns / lobster rolls? There is none to be had here. I've approached bakers around here and no luck! I even tried baking my own with a special pan from King Arthur. Wrong texture. Perhaps a swap?
I live in Charleston, SC and have them mailed to me by friends/family at least twice a month! They are the one thing I jones for from home more than anything else. You can buy them online, but very expensive....although well worth it! I usually will toast them and throw some chicken salad in them....a very good mock lobster roll...but, only if you toast them with plenty of butter!!! I have been trying to get the local Piggly Wiggly here to get them from the Pepperridge Farm distributor.... no luck yet though. Good luck! Paul -
