Stuffed tostito\'s
"Sparky"
Dang these were yummy and simple :woohoo: I took some tostitdo scoops, and stuffed them with lean, ground sirloin(with a little cowlick),then placed a chunk of medium cheddar on top. Here's the tostitos stuffed(with cheese on top):

I cooked these at 350,raised/raised again/direct :woohoo: Here's the first raise:

And the second raise:

Here's the XL chugging along(the melting cheese is causing the smoke):

In about 15 mins, they are ready for eating :woohoo:

Sorry,no plated pics,we just ate them right off the egg

YUMMMMM!!!!!!
-
Oh yeah they were
I just love these simple little snacks :woohoo: -
duuuude, so tasty looking, throw some onions & tomatoes on top & have some dips on the side & they are like individual nacho bites, & the cool thing is nobody has to feel bad because they took the 'nucleus', that one chip that binds the whole mess together  :laugh:happy in the hut

I will definitely give those a try!!!
-
Thanks Marc,I was soo hungry,I didn't even think of the extras
But I would like to add onions, maters, sour cream,bacon....blah,blah,blahhhhh :woohoo: All good things
-
Nice, did the shells hold up and retain some crunch? Probably best with lean beef for that reason.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX

Yes Barry, they held up fine, but you're right.I used extra lean ground sirloin
I think the original recipe called for 93% lean ground beef
These were still crunchy after the cook :woohoo:

Nice Doug

Thanks Ross,simple and delicious :woohoo:

Ah Doug. I keep seeing these things so I guess I'm going to have to give them a try. I can see why they get eaten right off the egg.
-
Dang Sparky you are killing me. We ARE getting together whether you like it or not! :P :P :PThis is the greatest signature EVAR!
-
Yes Ray,you'll see why once you try them :woohoo: They're just so tasty, you don't need a plate
:woohoo: -
Thanks Doug, and bring it on man :P lookin forward to meeting up buddy

We do em a lot as well....I put a slice of jalepeno on each one that has my name on it.... :woohoo:
The Frito scoops are a favorite of 2 of my boys, so we do some of those as well. 1 bag of Large Scoops really has less usable chips than you would think. Tostitos are my personal favorite.
Such a crowd and especially kid pleaser.
We actually mix a little cheese in with the beef and taco seasoning. We do like having lots of toppings on hand including extra cheese. Usually do them with some potato skins and taco pizza.
These pictures were taken last year sometime....

wow, those look amazing :woohoo: I gotta try that sometime
