Well the BBQ was a huge success. 6 Butts and 4 Chickens. Had camera and battery issues so not a ton of pictures but heres the few I got.
The butts went in at 7:00pm (sorry you might have seen this before).

They filled the egg so much that it took a couple of tries to get the lid down. Then the thermometer wouldn't read the temperature very well until I took {url=http://www.eggheadforum.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&func=view&id=663481&catid=1]Desert Oasis Womens[/url] advice and took the temperature tthrough the daisy. Overnight the temperature at the daisy went from 280 down to 230 at 3:00 I wiggled the holes in the grate and the temperature went back up to 250.
Up at 6:00am and the butts we getting close (197) so I tightened things up and dropped the temperature to 230 at the daisy, just to try to stretch the cook a bit.
Here's the egg at 8:30am 230 at the daisy and 202 in the meat. I took this picture and the camera died.

While the batteries charged we took the butts out double wrapped them in foil and put them in a cooler, then on the advice of Super Glide put them in a 165 degree oven. This worked great. I left the probe in and it dropped to 189 then stayed there all day. The pork stayed wonderfully moist.

Spatchcocked some chickens and cooked em for about an hour at 375, until ther breast was 165. Here they are.

My buddy Pete pulled the pork out of the oven and started pulling it.

By this time there we more than 40 people in the house and picture taking stopped. The chicken disappeared fast but there was more than enough pulled pork. After dinner I was called to explain the egg, at least 3 people are very interested in getting one.
The party ran strong all the way to 2:30 in the morning, then spontaneousy stopped. I think all in all there were about 55 people here, a lot of them were kids so they were hard to count.
Thanks for all the help in making it the success it was.

Good for you, Doug. Sounds like the party was a big success. Yes, it is hard to be the cook, cameraman and the host all at the same time. Maybe if you have a designated camera kid, you could get more pics of that great food.
Relax and enjoy your Sunday. You deserve it.

thanks for the pics! Best part of being pork-pulling buddy is you can snitch the prime pieces :woohoo: -
Wow Doug, you are really on fire with that Egg. You are a great match to the Egg. In the short time you have had it you sure have done a lot of great cooks. I can see another Large Egg in your future. It looks like you all ate very good.
