New to the BGE as far as slow cooks go. In order to cook indirectly for 6-8 hours at 200 - 250 degrees how much hardwood and or wood do I start off with. I have the large egg and attempting to cook a 8 lb briskett flat. I've been to the Playing With Fire web site and reviewed the recipe but did not find info on start up. I might be off on the time needed above but just looking for some general info on slow cooks.

For any low and slow I always fill to the top of the fire ring which gives me 24 plus hrs. at 250. I do my briskets a little different than most and it's always an 8 hr. cook but for a conventional cook I think you will be over 8 hrs. Check out Bubba Tims site.

OK guys I appreciate. Had no idea how long the egg could cook low and slow. I was afraid I would need to reload after several hours. Can't wait to give it a try!
