Have a loose gasket, grill just purchased in mid March of 2009. Any solutions to fix, or do I need to get a new gasket.

Call Bruce at BGE Atlanta(770-934-5300). Tell him what happened and he will send you a gasket most likely at no charge. Ask for a Nomex gasket. One thing about BGE is that the customer service is top knotch.

Until then get a can of Scotch Super 77 spray glue and spray a little into a cup. Apply it between the Egg and the gasket with a Q-tip or small paint brush and let it tack up as per directions on the can. Then press it on. You will need the Spray glue for the new gasket anyway.

thanks for the help from Santa Claus Indiana

BGE says you can also use Elmer's Glue. Never tired it but so they say. I like Panhandle Smoker's suggestion. You will need the 3M for the Nomex installation anyway.

Sounds like the situation that I was just in. Bought new XL for CHristmas and had the gasket come loose. Unfortunately, it happened in the middle of a cook. Needless to say, the gasket fell off the rim and onto the grill. It fried and left a terrible residue.
I made a call to BGE the next day and they were very helpful. My advise to you is call BGE ASAP and request a gasket replacement kit.
Also would consider gluing the gasket back to the rim until the new gasket arrives(my replacement instructions stated that Elmers glue to reattach loose spots). Do not use BGE while gasket is loose because it will come off at the most inopportune moment! -

Your gasket is fine, the adhesive failed. Simply remove the gasket and the backing if you can. 3M 77 adhesive and spray on and put gasket back good as new.
