Very cool! I would use the window as a passthru for beers and food kept in the fridge. It's looking great!

    Great Hut Marc,
I am envious of it for sure, I am in the same situation as you were previously; anyway nice job, love the cedar.

thanks Todd, some of the guys that built the hut suggested that too, but my beer fridge is in the family room right through that other door shown in some of the pictures, an equal distance I might add from the hut, so I was thinking more or less something decorative & useful, maybe some shelves with a brick arch or something... no worries though, I've got time to think about it, maybe sit out there for a month or a few years & it'll come to me

thanks bill, you are correct, the hut was built low & slow to the ground, 'cept of course that one edge leading to the backyard, so a quick 2 steps & your there... maybe some nice fluffy playground equipment rubberized 'stuff' should be put there to, well, you know, to 'help' those that need a soft landing :ermm:

i would advise not planting the naga jalokia's around the ZSH.. not good to be face down in something used to repel elephants.

    Marc,
Very nice cookshack. Now I think as a tribute to Sparky, you need to cook some treestump steaks!

as far as the piels goes. ...my uncle owned a liquor store in DC when i went to college and used to sell me that stuff for 5 bucks a case back in the 70s so it probably dates back to around then. . . .we drank a lot of it during the period 74 - 78 . ...really liked it back in the day!!!

You know I really don't know, I made a pile of them a few years back from a giant branch that had fallen from one of my trees, it could have been the one that was cut down but but certainly not post cut down... by the way these things are great, have'm all over the place, put some felt circles on the bottom & poof, insta-coasters

thanks Brad, & like I said above, those times have already begun. The day the roof went up I cooked a batch of chick-o-stix amidst a furious downpour. Me, the wife, & my buddy who built the hut sat out there cook'n & drink'n for about one hour during the storm from hell, no shingles, just plywood & paper up there, it sprung a few leaks but the beers took care of all of that, it was a success, now I am looking forward to the next big storm now that it's all tightened up, feelin pretty strong here :)

Max, I am surprised it took this long for someone to comment upon that shot. I figured that can was pretty old, seeing as how they saw fit to advertise that it was in a "New" Aluminum Can & all... I wonder what kind of ink they used, it's dirty but otherwise the can looks brand new in person. It seems that if you leave a new can outside today it fades very quickly. By the way do they still make Piels, not sure I've noticed one way or another lately, I remember it being pretty popular when I was a kid

JL, it is quite 'shack'esqe' isn't it? Lookin at the DP Smokeshack all this time was of course part of the motivating factor, just knowing that if I had one I wouldn't have to do so much planning around the weather...

And yes, my buddy does ride, however, the dirtbike variety, he's an animal with that thing, loves it, helluva great guy too, we go way way back. He & his wife & kids will be over to officially break in the Hut soon for a little pizza/wine festival, we should all enjoy the happiness that his skill has bestowed upon casa di zippy
