Chicken Thighs with Salt and Pepper

On the grill at 325*

Turned after 1-hr.

At 90-min. added The Big Bob's Gibson's White BBQ Sauce

Pulled at 2-hrs.

Served with mashed potatoes, this was a vary good dinner

I never heard of white barbeque sauce before. I guess it will take awhile to migrate from Californis to the east coast.

I believe Big Bob Gibson's in in Alabama. I have a bottle of his sauce that my parents sent me from there but I just haven't worked up the nerve to try it yet. These pictures do make me want to give it a shot though.

Thanks for posting the pics, i was about to write about this recipe myself as I cooked it over the weekend since I just bought Big Bob Gibson's cookbook. I have younger kids so I pulled the chicken meat just like pulled pork and put white sauce on top. My kids absolutely loved it, they liked the sauce very much. Its a great chicken dish for kids.
I have been loving everything I have made on Green Egg so far, its been the most juicy and moist meats.
I am fellow californian too Ross.

For those who haven't tried this:
I love the white BBQ sauce. It sounded so weird when I read about it several years ago in Southern Living that I didn't try it for a few years. The flavor is great, nothing like you'd expect. Give it a shot!Knoxville, TN

Did you make the sauce exactly as shown in the recipe?
I was reading the reviews and it is mentioned that there are two typo's which can been seen in "Barb's response"
The changes seem like that would change the flavor quite a bit.

Its a combination of Mayo, Vinegar, Apple Juice, Lemon Juice, Prepared horseradish, salt, cayenne and black pepper.
When you smoke chicken you put salt and put for 1.5 hr, then take the chicken out and put black pepper under the skin and rub with olive oil and put the chicken back for another 45mins till internal temp is 180deg.
