Morning All:
FONDUE on the Egg! EggHatter has been wanting fondue for a while and I just had to see if it could be done on the Egg...and it can.
Used the small, indirect with a liner from an old crockpot. Here we have the wine, Kirsch and some fresh chopped garlic...

Add the cheese, used a combination of swiss, gruyere, Appenzeller, Emmentaler & Butterkase...

Since we were using the small, we sat out on the patio for the outdoor kitchen with the items to dip in the cheese, toasted bread, mushrooms, grapes, strawberries and Italian sausage...

EggHatter dipping a piece of bread...

and both of us ready to dig in...

Will I do fondue on the Egg again......probably not, but it did turn out quite tasty and I just had to try it.
EggHatter also made a pan of Banana Bread that I cooked on the large earlier today...

Morning Steve:
No real smoke flavor (that I noticed), but I went with lump only and most if it was new lump that I let burn a while before putting the crockpot liner on.Have a GREAT day!

Did you ever close the dome when heating?
Kent -
Hey, Jay - you've been MIA for a few days so I assumed you and Kathy were in route, but obviously not. I assumed since you said you're bringing your small you are traveling by car. When will you head out? Tell EggHatter that she missed the Chippendales who just performed at the Embassy where you're staying! I was at my dealers shop today and they have already pre sold 10 eggs for next Saturday's Peoria Eggfest and I know of at least 1 more in the works and maybe 2. He was extremely optimistic with a week to go! Have a safe trip!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Morning Ron:
Yes, we are driving. We will leave here early Thursday morning for my mother's place in Mounds (very Southern tip of the state). We will head up to Peoria on Friday afternoon. We will have the small with us just in case I can't get on one of the larges for some of the stuff I plan on cooking. See you in a week! By the way, make sure the weather stays nice for Saturday!Have a GREAT day!

Morning Kent:
Most of the heating was done with the dome down. Really only opened it to take the pictures. Once the cheese was melted and nice, I moved the crockpot to the table and set it on the larger pizza stone.Have a GREAT day!

I grabbed a couple of pobleno peppers and stuffed some cheese on them. About 40 more minutes.
