    I use the 91% rubbing alcohol, but I fill my chimney starter with lump, place it on grill with egg lid open and bottom vent open, use 1 shot glass full of alcohol, pour in middle of lump, light, 15 mins later, chimney is fully glowing red with coals, then pour all of this in lump below, close lid, set vents to what temp I am trying to maintain. As the temp approaches target temp, start shutting vents down to desired position. This has worked for me on all my cooks including low & slow, as well as 500-600 searing cooks. Just my 2 cents worth. Happy egging.
