Alright. When you posted about the cast iron grid, I ran out and grabbed some prime ribeyes. Not really.
I got home from work early and I'm several beers in.
Missed some of the steak with the CI. LC if you say one word about my tourne, I'll lose it  I couldn't find a paring knife and did it with a 12" carver.

So what did you do with the drambuie?
-
I'm all ears too as I didn't even know Drambuie was created by the gods for anything but Rusty Nails!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Rod,
Just before I put the steaks on I douse them in the Dram. Didn't have a photographer tonight so I didn't get a good shot of the sear. This is a tenderloin from a few years ago. Try it. You can do it with cognac but the Dram is my favourite.

Ron,
I don't know if you can get Glayva there but it is better for the sear, and for drinking IMHO. I answered Rod below for the process.

XYRN2B,
Yer crackin' me up. Lost all the charging cords and stuff for my good cameras and I have like a couple of milliamps left on the disposable. The flare is pretty sweet if you can catch it.

Losing the camera accessories is unfortunate :(

I have an el cheapo point-and-shoot, thought I toasted the lens on the last attempt...a little more cautious nowBrandonQuad Cities

Steven....Not questioning your knives, and especially not questioning your talent!!
That is for sure!
Birds beak knives are specifically designed for weird cuts like the tourne... Worth the $10 to try it...they are magic for unique cuts.
Honest...they are fun to work with!!

Mickey,
No. I don't get into that movin' stuff around too much. I would rather just get an egg for the purpose  I am pretty short so it may look like it from the pics.
