Bacon Flavored Vodka!!

I was surfing the web and I stumbeld upon this. Beleive it or not there's a product called "Bakon" and it's a bacon flavored vodka. Yes, it's real. It's only available in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon right now. Is there anyone on the forum who has tried this. I would love to get my hands on a bottle of this and try it.
Here's a recipe for a "Bakon Mary". :woohoo:
(Hey FlaPoolman, I bet your Bloody Mary recipe would be great with "Bakon".)

Bakon Mary
• 1 oz. to 1½ oz. Bakon Vodka in a Highball glass filled with ice.
• Fill glass with tomato juice
• 1 dash celery salt
• 1 dash ground black pepper
• 1 dash Tabasco
• 2-4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
• 1/8 tsp. horseradish (pure, never creamed)
• Dash of lemon or lime juice
Garnish with a celery stalk; a skewer of olives, pickles, carrots, mushrooms, or other vegetables; or even meat or shrimp (bacon, salami, shrimp, etc.) and cheese. Pickled asparagus spears or pickled beans are also great as a garnish.
This recipe looks pretty good too!!
Bakon Vodka Marinated Steak (Serves 6)
• 1 tablespoon sea salt or 1/2 teaspoon table salt
• 2 tablespoons black peppercorns, crushed
• 3 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
• 2 tablespoons finely chopped thyme
• 3 cloves garlic, crushed
• 1/3 cup Bakon Vodka
• 1/4 cup olive oil
• A slice of beef cut from the top of the rump, about an inch thick or 24 ounces
Combine marinade ingredients and put into a closed container with the beef, making sure to evenly coat with herbs. Marinate for 3 hours at room temperature. Or for superior results, marinate for 1 to 3 days in the refrigerator before cooking.
Cook to preferred temperature, and enjoy

Anne,
How many times I gotta tell ya? It is not HIS recipe. It comes from the Great White North and it is called a Bloody Caesar.
Sheesh

Steven,
Does a Bloody Caesar salad have beets in it?
:pinch:
:silly: -
I hate to say you're wrong Steve, I just found this in Wikipedia.
Definition of "Bloody Mary"
The "Bloody Mary" cocktail was invented by a man named Pat McDonough, otherwise knows as FlaPoolman among eggheads. He resides in Melbourne, Florida where he lives with his wife, Wendy. He developed this recipe in 1971 when he was a freshman in high school. :woohoo:
In its original form, it contained tomato juice and mashed clams; Clamato had only just been released (with the assistance of Chell) by the Mott's company that very year, and was not yet widely known or available.
Starting in 2002, Mott's began marketing pre-mixed Caesars in twelve-ounce bottles.
Variations can include substituted or added ingredients, like salt and pepper, wasabi, cayenne pepper, horseradish, or lime juice, seasoning salt or lemon pepper (rather than celery salt), a garnish of dill pickled cucumber, spicy pickled green bean or asparagus. Occasionally a prawn (especially in seafood restaurants) or crisp bacon is used as a garnish. Other names for a Bloody Mary include Bloody Caesar, Canadian Caesar, Salted Caesar, and Clamdigger. -
Kim,
We didn't invent the salad...only the drink. Who eats salad anyway

Anne,
Wikopedia has got to be right. I do know his age though and the only way he was a freshman in 71 was if he was 28 at the time...Oh wait..never mind...I stand corrected.

Anne, only you could turn us all onto bacon flavored vodka. I'm with you, I'd love to try it.

In a Bloody Mary I think it would be great. It's definitely not a sipping vodka.
-
I'm out on sipping it but Anne, the Wikipedia post was awesome!
