FWIW, for those that seem interested in verifying when it was taken....

it was taken 5/24/2009 at 10:45:04 PM
with a Nikon D60; f/3.5, 10/600 sec exposure; and a focal length of 18mm; auto mode 3, metered in "pattern" mode

no need to ever "date stamp" an image when all the data is stored with it in the first place. if someone really wanted to know, they could find it out easily enough (if they knew how).

Cool! Hopefully my social security number and checking account info weren't on the photo, ugh.

Feel free to check the data of the other Big Green Egg pics, they were taken with the same camera by me

Is it normal to have 250 at the dome and 189 at the grate? Seems like quite a spread 8 or 9 hours into a cook.

it will get closer the longer into the cook you are. i never track it, since i go by dome. dunno what the typical grate temp is at this point

Yeah a bunch of cold meat at the grate can cause a big dif between the dome and grate. I clip the pit probe to the dome temp stem and set for 250. -RP

arrest him? he was correct. CW asked him to date stamp the damn thing. there's no need to, he took the pic tonight, when he said he did, as the file info clearly tells.

...and you took the shot the 8th of january, with no flash.

1/8 sec shutter speed, 7.2mm focal length

    also, you are apparently left-handed.

My bad!!!! You were right on both dates. I thought your first guess was the chili but you had looked at the poll post. Pretty cool

left handed was a guess. imagine how you might have crapped yer pants if it was right.... hahaha

i try to do that all the time. mast night watching the sox game my son was talking about papelbon (the closer) being ice. i said, yeah, except for this homerun. crack, home run, sox lose.

he looked at me like i had esp er sumthin. nah. just keep a straight face when your wild prediction comes true.

the 8th of january may have been when the pic was downloaded, dunno. or your date may be off. hahah

but that's the date assoicated with the file anyway.

They are lookin' good, how you liking that D60 Nikon? I am needing a better quality digital and I figure it is finally time to go SLR since the prices have been down for awhile now.

It is my fiancees camera, I am not a camera guy by any means but it seems awesome, takes great pics. Did you take a look a couple of the pics in my other thread of the egg looking like a jet engine along with some basic food porn shots? I think it takes excellent pics and has more features than I will ever use.

No I'll have to check out that post. I was just on the Nikon site and then googling prices; they are definitely what I am looking for although still cost about a half an egg

Butts turned out pretty good. A little better than the last ones but still not up to snuff. I pulled them at 195 internal and rested on a sheet pan for about 20 minutes and shredded. They nearly shredded themselves but had very little smoke ring and were still a bit bland.
